Your mission statement 
As an underwriter, you will be the central pillar of our insurance team, contributing to informed decision-making and the development of tailor-made solutions for our customers. Your role will be essential in managing risk, maximizing profits and preserving our unrivalled reputation in the marketplace.  Your main responsibilities will be to assist and support brokers in the placement of their files with insurers.  

Main responsibilities

Placement support - commercial lines

- Assists brokers in the placement of files and ensures follow-up;
- In collaboration with brokers, establishes a placement strategy;
- Negotiates renewal conditions and insurance coverage with insurers;
- Ensures that all necessary documentation is obtained in order to obtain favorable conditions for file placement;
- Verifies compliance of applications received;
- Keeps abreast of new products offered by insurers;
- Coordinates the process and communicates file progress to the various parties involved (brokers and insurers);
- All other tasks related to the investment department.

Skills profile

Education: Certificate in commercial property and casualty insurance issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers (an asset).

Experience: 3-5 years' experience in underwriting or commercial lines.

Specific knowledge:

- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
- Knowledge of SigXP and PolicyWorks (an asset);

Specific skills and aptitudes 

- Strong customer service orientation;
- Good communication and listening skills;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Ability to find creative solutions;
- Thoroughness and conscientiousness;
- Ability to adapt to peak periods;
- Ability to analyze and synthesize;
- Bilingualism (an asset).
